Draft for review. Not legal advice. Review with a solicitor or SGB Accountants before publishing.
Effective date: 27 October 2026 Version: Draft 2, prepared 27 October 2026
These terms have three parts:
- Part A: Website terms of use. These apply to everyone who uses montajfoundation.com.
- Part B: Gala ticket terms. These apply when you buy a ticket or a table for the Montaj Foundation Gala 2027.
- Part C: Sponsorship terms. These apply to businesses that buy a sponsorship package.
Part B is written for people buying as consumers. Part C is written for businesses. The law gives consumers extra rights that businesses do not have, so the two parts are different on purpose. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have by law.
Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal data. Please read it alongside these terms.
Who we are
- We are THE MONTAJ FOUNDATION C.I.C., a community interest company registered in England and Wales, company number 16988732.

- Our director is Kaiyan Erkan Ali.
- Contact us at info@montajfoundation.com.
- We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on tickets or sponsorship.
We are not a registered charity. We run fundraising events in support of charitable causes. In 2027 we are raising money for Barts Heart Centre through Barts Charity. All net proceeds of the Gala, after event costs, will be given to Barts Charity for Barts Heart Centre. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm this wording and the share with Barts Charity, and whether a Charities Act 1992 s.59 agreement is needed]
In these terms, 'we', 'us' and 'our' mean The Montaj Foundation C.I.C. 'You' means the person using our website, buying a ticket, or buying a sponsorship package.

As a community interest company, we cannot claim Gift Aid ourselves. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm with SGB Accountants and Barts Charity whether donations are paid to us and passed on, or paid to Barts Charity directly, and whether Barts Charity can claim Gift Aid on that route]
A6. Our liability for the website
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

A8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add ticketing or payments to the website, or when the law changes. The version on the website on the date you use it applies. The version in place when you book a ticket or sign up as a sponsor applies to that booking, unless a change is required by law or we tell you about it and you agree.
Part B: Gala ticket terms
About the Gala
These terms apply to tickets and tables for the Montaj Foundation Gala 2027, held on Saturday 13 March 2027 at the Garden Marquee, Hunton Park Hotel, Essex Lane, Abbots Langley, WD4 8PN. The Gala is a black tie fundraising evening in support of Barts Heart Centre through Barts Charity, run by The Montaj Foundation C.I.C.
If you book for a business, Part B applies, but the rights that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives consumers do not.
The key points
- The dress code is black tie.
- The Gala is for guests aged 18 and over.
- Hunton Park is cashless, so please bring a card.
- Can't make it? You can pass your ticket to a friend free of charge until 1 March 2027. Otherwise tickets are not refundable, except in the cases in B5.
- Please send guest names and dietary needs by 1 March 2027.
- The price shown is the total price.
B1. Tickets and prices
| Price | |
|---|---|
| Single ticket | £150 per person |
| Table of 10 | £1,350 per table |
- A table of 10 costs 10% less than 10 single tickets.
- The price shown is the total price. Any fee you have to pay to book is included in the price shown when you choose your tickets. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm the ticketing route shows all mandatory fees in the headline price]
- We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.
- The ticket price is for entry to the event. It is not a donation and Gift Aid does not apply to it.
What a ticket includes is shown on the Gala page at the time you book. At the date of these terms it includes a welcome glass of fizz, a three-course dinner with tea and coffee, wine and beer on every table, and planned live entertainment, a DJ and a dancefloor. Other bar drinks are not included.
[PLACEHOLDER: how wine and beer on every table works when single tickets are seated on shared tables]
B2. How booking works
- Steps. Choose your tickets or table, enter your details and your guests' details, check your order, then pay. You book and pay through [PLACEHOLDER: ticketing route, on-site checkout or a ticketing platform] and [PLACEHOLDER: payment provider]. That provider's own terms also apply to the payment.
- Correcting mistakes. You can check and change your order before you press the button to pay. If you spot a mistake after paying, email info@montajfoundation.com as soon as you can.
- When the contract is made. Your booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. A contract between you and us is formed at that point. The confirmation email is your copy of the contract, so please keep it. You can ask us for a copy of these terms at any time.
- Language. The contract is in English.
- Lead booker. The person who books (the 'lead booker') is responsible for the booking, for paying for it, and for passing these terms on to their guests.
- Names and seating. Please give us the names of everyone in your party, and any seating requests, when you book or by 1 March 2027. We will try to meet seating requests but cannot promise to.
- Availability. Tickets are subject to availability. Numbers are limited by the venue's capacity.
- Pricing errors. If we make an obvious pricing error, we will contact you before your booking is confirmed. If it has already been confirmed, we will offer you the choice of paying the correct price or a full refund.
B3. Age
The Gala is an adults only event. All guests must be 18 or over. We or the venue may ask for photo ID. Anyone who cannot show they are 18 or over may be refused entry, and no refund will be due. Alcohol will only be served to guests aged 18 or over.
B4. Dress code
The dress code is black tie. We may refuse entry to anyone who is clearly not dressed for the occasion. If you have a question about the dress code, including for cultural, religious or accessibility reasons, please contact us before the event.
B5. Cancellations and refunds
Cooling-off period. Gala tickets are for an event on a fixed date, so the usual 14 day cooling-off period for online purchases does not apply. Please check you can come before you book.
Our refund policy:
- Can't make it? You can pass your ticket to a friend free of charge (see B6).
- We cannot otherwise refund tickets, except in these cases.
- If we cancel the Gala and do not reschedule it, we will refund everything you paid for the booking, including any booking fee.
- If we postpone the Gala or make a major change (see B7), we will email you. You can then choose to keep your ticket or ask for a full refund of everything you paid for the booking, including any booking fee. Please reply within 14 days of our email. If the event is less than 14 days away when we email you, you can ask for a refund at any time up to the start of the event. If you do not reply, your ticket stays valid for the new date or the changed event.
- Refunds will be made to the original payment method within 14 days of us agreeing the refund.
- [PLACEHOLDER: any other discretionary refunds, for example for illness, and whether any booking fee is refunded in those cases. These are optional and not required by law.]
This policy does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if we do not provide the event with reasonable care and skill, or as described.
B6. Changing names and passing on tickets
- You can change the name on a ticket, or pass your ticket to a friend, free of charge until 1 March 2027. Email info@montajfoundation.com with the new guest's name and any dietary needs.
- After that date we may not be able to change names, seating plans or dietary orders.
- Please note: tickets must not be resold for more than face value, or sold through any secondary ticketing or auction website. We may cancel tickets resold in breach of this rule. If we do, we may refund the original buyer the face value less our reasonable costs.
B7. Changes to the event
Major change means any of these:
- a new date;
- a different venue;
- a change that makes the Gala a different kind of evening.
If we make a major change, you can ask for a refund under B5.
- Programme and entertainment. The running order, entertainment, acts, menu and timings may change. A change of this kind is not a major change unless it makes the Gala a different kind of evening.
- Times. At the date of these terms, the plan is:
- arrival drinks 7pm to 7.30pm;
- dinner from 8pm;
- party until 11.55pm (we hope to run to 1am, if the venue gets a late licence).
- Venue. If the venue becomes unavailable, we may move the Gala to another venue. We will tell you as soon as we can. A change of venue is a major change, so you can ask for a refund under B5.
B8. Conduct and right of admission
- We and the venue may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone who:
- behaves in a way that is violent, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or likely to cause offence or danger;
- appears to be drunk or under the influence of drugs;
- breaks the law, the venue's rules or these terms;
- is under 18.
- Anyone refused entry or removed for these reasons will not receive a refund.
- You are responsible for any damage you cause to the venue or its property.
- Please treat staff, suppliers, volunteers and other guests with respect.
B9. Venue rules
- Hunton Park is a cashless venue. Please bring a card for the bar and the raffle.
- The venue's own rules and licence conditions apply. You must follow reasonable instructions from venue staff and our team.
- You may not bring your own food or drink into the venue without the venue's consent.
- The cloakroom is not staffed, so please keep valuables with you. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to your belongings, unless it is caused by our negligence or our breach of these terms.
- Parking and accessibility: [PLACEHOLDER: parking and accessibility details at Hunton Park]. If you have access needs, please tell us when you book so we can talk to the venue.
B10. Photography and filming
- We plan to have a photographer and content creator at the Gala, and may have a photobooth. [PLACEHOLDER: names of the photographer and content creator]
- We may use photos and videos taken on the night on our website, on social media and in future promotional material, to report on the Gala and to promote future events. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests.
- If you do not want to be photographed or filmed, please tell a member of our team on arrival or email info@montajfoundation.com before the event. We will respect this, but you may still appear in the background of wider shots.
- If you object to us using a photo of you, we will stop using it in new material and remove it from our website and social media accounts. We cannot recall printed items.
- Our event planner, Mon Bleu Events, may photograph the set-up for its portfolio but will not show identifiable guests.
- Our Privacy Notice explains how we use images.
B11. Raffle and games
- The raffle is run as an incidental lottery under Schedule 11, Part 1 of the Gambling Act 2005. This means raffle tickets are only sold at the Gala on the night, and all prizes are drawn on the night. They cannot be bought in advance or online. Prizes do not roll over.
- The draw results are announced during the Gala.
- All raffle proceeds, after no more than £100 of expenses and no more than £500 spent on prizes, go to [PLACEHOLDER: Barts Charity for Barts Heart Centre].
- You must be 18 or over to buy a raffle ticket. This is our own rule for an adults only event.
- Raffle ticket price: [PLACEHOLDER: raffle ticket price]. Payment is by card only.
- Prizes are as described on the night. Prizes may be donated by supporters. Any terms set by the prize donor apply, for example expiry dates or booking conditions, and we will tell winners about them.
- [PLACEHOLDER: whether winners must be present at the draw, and what happens to unclaimed prizes]
- Games. Heads and tails and any other games with a prize are for adults only, and entry is paid on the night by card. All money raised goes to [PLACEHOLDER: purpose, for example Barts Charity for Barts Heart Centre]. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm with Three Rivers District Council licensing and the Gambling Commission guidance which gaming exemption applies, and its stake and prize limits]
B12. Auction
[PLACEHOLDER: keep this section only if an auction is confirmed; otherwise remove it]
- Auction format: [PLACEHOLDER: live auction, silent auction or both]
- You must be 18 or over to bid.
- The highest bid accepted by the auctioneer wins. In a silent auction, the highest valid bid when bidding closes wins.
- If there is a dispute about a bid, the auctioneer will decide fairly on the night. This does not affect your legal rights.
- A winning bid is a binding commitment to pay. Payment is due by card on the night, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Lots may be donated by supporters. We describe them in good faith based on what the donor tells us. Any terms set by the donor apply. Your legal rights are not affected.
- [PLACEHOLDER: collection or delivery arrangements for lots]
- The amount you pay for an auction lot is a purchase, not a donation, and Gift Aid does not apply.
B13. Dietary requirements and allergies
- Allergy, medical and religious diet information is sensitive personal data. We only collect it with each guest's explicit consent.
- We will ask each guest for their own dietary needs directly, with a consent tick box. [PLACEHOLDER: how this is collected, for example a link sent to each guest]
- If the lead booker gives us a guest's dietary details, the lead booker must confirm that the guest has given explicit consent to us, Mon Bleu Events and the venue's catering team receiving that information.
- We share this information with our event planner, Mon Bleu Events, and the venue's catering team. The venue only receives what it needs to cater for you and only uses it for that. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm the Hunton Park clause 16.6 marketing opt-out has been exercised] Mon Bleu Events deletes guest data within 90 days. See our Privacy Notice.
- You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@montajfoundation.com. We will then not be able to plan for that need.
- The kitchen will do its best to meet dietary needs, but it handles allergens. We cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from allergens.
- If you have a serious allergy, please tell us when you book and speak to the catering team on the night.
- Please tell us about any changes by 1 March 2027.
B14. Our liability to ticket holders
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. This includes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- We will provide the event with reasonable care and skill. If we do not provide the event as described or with reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to have us put it right or, if that is not possible, to a price reduction.
- If we are liable to you, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when you booked.
- Apart from the cases in the first point, and loss of or damage to your property caused by our negligence, our total liability to you for any booking will not be more than the amount you paid us for that booking.
- We are not liable for losses relating to any business of yours, such as lost profit or a lost business opportunity.
- We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you choose to pay in connection with the Gala, unless the loss was caused by our negligence or our breach of these terms.
B15. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for a delay or failure to carry out these terms if it is caused by an event outside our reasonable control. Examples include extreme weather, fire, flood, damage to the marquee or venue, loss of the venue, failure of utilities, public health restrictions, government action, strikes not involving our own team, terrorism or civil unrest.
If this happens, we will tell you as soon as we can and take reasonable steps to limit the impact. If the Gala has to be cancelled or postponed, B5 applies, so you will be offered a full refund or tickets for the new date.
Part C: Sponsorship terms
C1. About these terms
These terms apply when you buy a sponsorship package for the Montaj Foundation Gala 2027 from The Montaj Foundation C.I.C. Sponsorship is a business to business arrangement. The consumer protections in Part B do not apply to you in the same way, and some terms here are stricter. Any terms implied by law that cannot be excluded between businesses still apply.
The contract is made up of these terms and your booking form, email confirmation or invoice (the 'Order'). If they conflict, the Order wins.
C2. Packages and what is included
| Silver £1,000 | Gold £2,500 | Platinum £5,000 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gala tickets | 2 | 4 | 10 (a full table) |
| Brochure | Half page | Full page | Full page |
| Logo on event material | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Branded item in the goodie bag (sponsor pays for print) | No | Yes | Yes |
| 60 second video slot | No | No | Yes |
| 5 minute address to the guests | No | No | Yes |
'Logo on event material' means all four of the following, for every tier:
- the sponsor board (the branded photo backdrop);
- the screen loop on the night;
- the partners section of our website;
- an Instagram thank-you post.
Further points:
- Tickets. Part B applies to the Gala tickets in your package, except B5 (refunds). C9 and C10 replace B5 for sponsors. Please send guest names and dietary needs by 1 March 2027.
- Goodie bag item. If you are a Gold or Platinum sponsor, you may supply one branded item for the goodie bag, printed at your cost. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm who pays for the item and its delivery, and any item restrictions]
- Video slot and address. We decide with our event planner where the Platinum video and 5 minute address go in the running order. The address must not run over 5 minutes, and the video must not run over 60 seconds.
- Exclusivity. [PLACEHOLDER: whether any sponsor gets category exclusivity]
- Number of Platinum sponsors. [PLACEHOLDER: whether the number of Platinum sponsors is capped]
- Upgrades. You may upgrade to a higher tier at any time before the brochure goes to print, and pay only the difference.
- Additional tables of 10 can be bought at £1,350.
C3. Invoicing and payment
- We will send you an invoice when you confirm your package. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.
- Payment method: [PLACEHOLDER: bank transfer to our bank account, or payment provider]
- We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on sponsorship.
- If an invoice is unpaid, we will remind you first. If it is still unpaid, we may pause your package benefits until payment arrives, for example by leaving your logo out of print items. We may also charge statutory interest on late payments.
- If payment has not been received by the artwork deadline for an item, we cannot promise to deliver that item.
C4. Artwork and deadlines
| What | Deadline | Send to |
|---|---|---|
| Logos and brochure artwork (all tiers) | 8 February 2027 | [PLACEHOLDER: email or upload link, for example info@montajfoundation.com] |
| Goodie bag items, [PLACEHOLDER: 200 or 220] units (Gold and Platinum), printed at your cost | Delivered by 1 March 2027 | Our event planner, Mon Bleu Events [PLACEHOLDER: delivery address] |
| Platinum 60 second video file | 1 March 2027 | Our AV supplier [PLACEHOLDER: AV supplier contact and file specification] |
- We will send you a checklist with file formats and sizes when you sign up. [PLACEHOLDER: artwork specifications, for example vector logo, brochure page size and bleed]
- If artwork or items arrive late, or do not meet the specification, we will try to include them but cannot promise to. Late delivery does not lead to a refund or a reduction.
C5. Content approval and our right to refuse
- Please send us all your sponsor material for approval first. This covers logos, brochure artwork, goodie bag items, the video and the content of the 5 minute address. We will not unreasonably refuse approval.
- We may refuse, or ask for changes to, any material that in our reasonable opinion:
- is unlawful, misleading, offensive, discriminatory or political;
- could damage our reputation, Barts Charity's reputation or the venue's reputation;
- promotes gambling, tobacco, vaping or anything else unsuitable for the event;
- suggests that Barts Charity, Barts Heart Centre or the venue endorses your business;
- does not meet the technical specification or the venue's rules.
- The 5 minute address should be about your business, the cause and the evening. It should not be a hard sales pitch.
- If we refuse material and you do not supply suitable material by the deadline, that benefit may be left out. No refund will be due.
C6. Permission to use your logo and material
- You give us permission, free of charge, to use your business name, logo and supplied material to deliver your package and to promote and report on the Gala (you can still let others use them too). This covers print, screens at the event, our website and our social media.
- This permission lasts for 12 months after the event. After that, on request, we will remove your logo from our website within a reasonable time. We cannot recall printed items, and we do not have to delete past social media posts.
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, all material you supply, and that our agreed use of it will not infringe anyone's rights. If someone claims that your material infringes their rights, you will cover our reasonable losses (for example, if you send us a logo you do not have the rights to).
- You may say publicly that you sponsor the Montaj Foundation Gala 2027. You must not use our logo in any other way without our approval. Approved wording: [PLACEHOLDER: approved sponsor wording, pending Barts Charity approval]
C7. Tax: sponsorship is not a donation
- Sponsorship is a business purchase of visibility and hospitality. It is not a charitable donation.
- We are a community interest company, not a registered charity. We cannot offer Gift Aid or charitable tax relief, and we do not promise any tax treatment.
- Please ask your own accountant how to treat the cost.
- We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on sponsorship.
- You must not describe your sponsorship as a donation to Barts Charity or to any other charity.
C8. No endorsement by Barts Charity
- We are raising money for Barts Heart Centre through Barts Charity. The sponsorship agreement is between your business and The Montaj Foundation C.I.C. only.
- Sponsorship does not mean that Barts Charity, Barts Heart Centre or Hunton Park endorses or approves your business, or has a relationship with it.
- You must not use the names, logos or brands of Barts Charity, Barts Heart Centre or Hunton Park without the owner's written permission.
C9. If you cancel
- You can cancel by emailing info@montajfoundation.com.
- If you cancel before 8 February 2027 (the artwork deadline), we will [PLACEHOLDER: refund you in full / refund you minus any costs we have already paid for your package].
- Once the artwork deadline has passed, sponsorship fees are not refundable, and any unpaid invoice must still be paid.
- If you cannot attend, you may pass your included tickets to other people, in line with B6.
C10. If the event is cancelled or changed
- If we cancel the Gala and do not reschedule it, we will refund the sponsorship fee you have paid. [PLACEHOLDER: full refund, or refund less sponsor-specific costs already incurred, such as printing]
- If we postpone the Gala, your package carries over to the new date. If you cannot take part on the new date, you may cancel within 14 days of our email telling you about the new date and get a refund on the same basis as a cancellation by us.
- Changes to the programme, entertainment, running order or timings under B7 do not lead to a refund, as long as we deliver the substance of your package benefits.
- If we cannot deliver a particular benefit for a reason within our control, we will offer a fair alternative or a fair partial refund.
C11. Liability to sponsors
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
- Apart from the cases above, we are not liable to you for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or expected savings, or for any indirect loss (knock-on losses we could not have foreseen).
- Apart from the cases in the first point, our total liability to you under or in connection with the sponsorship will not be more than the sponsorship fee paid or payable.
- Guest numbers are an estimate. We do not promise any exact number of guests, level of media coverage, number of social media views or business result.
- You are responsible for your own staff, your guests, the items you supply and any equipment you bring, and you must follow the venue's rules. If you want to bring a supplier or equipment to the venue, you need our approval and the venue's written consent, requested at least 10 business days before the event.
C12. Events outside our control
We are not liable for a delay or failure to deliver the sponsorship if it is caused by an event outside our reasonable control, such as those listed in B15. If this happens, we will refund or carry over your package on the basis set out in C10.
C13. General
- You may not transfer your package to another business without our written agreement.
- Any change to these terms for your business must be agreed in writing. Email is enough.
General (all parts)
- These terms are between you and The Montaj Foundation C.I.C. No one else has a right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. This does not affect the right of guests named on a booking to attend the Gala.
- If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
Governing law and disputes (all parts)
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- Consumers: you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
- Businesses: any dispute with a business will be dealt with only by the courts of England and Wales.
- If you have a complaint, please email info@montajfoundation.com first. We will reply within 10 working days and try to resolve it.
- If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will tell you whether we use an alternative dispute resolution service. [PLACEHOLDER: ADR statement, to confirm with a solicitor which regime applies at publication]
